Hi there! I’m Kris, the face behind WonGi, and I’m so happy you’re here.

WonGi 旺吉 was born out of a deep longing for the authentic tastes of my home, Taiwan. I was born and raised in Tainan—the undisputed food capital of Taiwan—where people would gatekeep their favourite stalls like family secrets and everyone has a strong opinion about where to eat.

When I moved to Singapore for my studies, I fell in love with the city but deeply missed the comforting flavours of home. I didn’t just want "Taiwanese-style" snacks; I wanted the real deal. The exact stuff locals actually eat. 

So I knew I had to do it myself. I personally travel to Taiwan, taste, and source every single product. If a snack doesn't make me smile, it doesn't make it onto our shelves. Simple as that. Today, WonGi is based in Singapore, where I bring these Taiwanese favourites to you.

In Taiwan, our ultimate love language isn't "How are you?"—it’s "Have you eaten yet?" That is the exact warmth I want to share with you. Whether it's a midnight noodle bowl, a crunchy barley snack between meetings, or a cozy afternoon tea, I hope WonGi brings a little comfort and good luck (旺吉!) to your day.
